The IPU Committee on the Rights of Parliamentarian's confirmed in an official letter that it has not received any complaints from Parliamentarian/Mohamed Anwar El Sadat against the Egyptian House of Representatives. The Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives, Ali Abdel Al, had accused el Sadat during the investigations being conducted with him by the Ethics Committee, that he had sent a complaint and some information to the IPU, which was considered an insult to the Egyptian Parliament. Based on this accusation, the Ethics Committee recommended to drop El Sadat's membership from Parliament. Furthermore, this accusation has been repeated publicly by the Speaker of the House during Parliament sessions, which was cited in the sessions' transcripts.
