El Sadat Questions Minister of Foreign Affairs about Egypt Abstention from UN Resolution on Peacekeeping Sex Abuse

Parliamentarian and President of the Reform and Development Party, Anwar El Sadat, presented a question for Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, regarding Egypt's abstention from voting on a UN Security Council resolution curbing sex abuse and violations by peacekeeping troops in some African and Asian countries, especially in Central African Republic and Democratic Republic of Congo. The resolution passed with 14 votes and one abstention from Egypt after the Security Council rejected amendments proposed by Egypt.
El Sadat assured that the role played by Egypt in the Security Council is raising many questions regarding Egypt's efforts in upholding international peace and human rights, more so after abstaining from a decision that aims to stop the cancer of sexual abuse and exploitation of the people who trust the UN flag.
